Information gain

What is Information Gain in AI Search?

Information gain is the value of a page that adds a fact, original data, or a perspective the rest of the web does not already repeat. A model that finds only the same paragraph everywhere has nothing new to cite from you.

What counts as new

Restating a definition that already appears on a hundred sites does not give the model a reason to choose your page. A primary detail does: a method you use, a constraint you observed on your own pages, or a distinction other articles blur.

Do not invent a number to look original. A fabricated score is not information gain. It is a false citation waiting to be repeated.

How these pages apply it

Each page names one mechanism and the HTML consequence. The consequence is specific to this method: the answer lives in the first response, in tags a model can map.
